17 abr 2025

First full day in Japan and it’s already a much more noticeable change of pace. Started off the day at 7/11 (classic) to grab the famous egg sando and ichigo creme sando. Both worth the hype, 10/10 - will likely have it multiple times this trip. Strawberries just hit different here. And as a strawberry girl, I’m thriving.

Then we bopped over to a shrine, had a matcha at the cafe before our little walk around. It was so nice and tranquil, an escape from the loud and wild city, but also in the middle of the city. I get what people say now, Tokyo is like multiple little cities. And within those little cities there’s a mix of old temples and shrines and the hustle bustle life. It’s pretty cool.

Then we walked Harajuku, bought a couple souvenirs. And then walked to Shibuya, and was disappointed cause we couldn’t find the Nintendo keychains we were really excited about.

Quite the eventful day. But really, it was just nice doing it all with a friend. Laughs and deep chats in between exploring. A familiar friend that is down to take breaks and slow down when it’s getting a little too over stimulating. That's the thing, I like travelling at my own pace. None of this - we need to squeeze every minute and do something productive at all times. Sometimes you're a little tired and you want to hop into a close restaurant instead of trekking to the one you had in mind; or you want to sit in a cat cafe cause you're waiting for a store to open.

Kevin's the perfect travel buddy. Hope it stays that way and it's not just first day happies.

Signing off by saying, still miss my man. Wish he were here with me. And a final final note, my feet kill me, I haven't walked this much in forever. xoxo
